Mountain City Tile, Inc. Begun as Ceramic Tile Installation in spring of 1992 with Brian McClure and 1 helper, operating business out of personal home. Within 6 months, had grown to additional installer and 2 helpers working for more than 10 different general contractors. Continued to grow and expand, gaining additional home builders while adding personal home owners and bidding on commercial jobs, requiring additional installers and helpers. Saw the need to have a showroom for customers to shop from rather than sending them to other locations to select their tile, offering a one-stop-shop for tile and tile installation, opened as Mountain City Tile in February 2002 at 7633 Dayton Pike. Using the modest showroom, office and warehouse facilities, business quickly grew and demanded an expansion within 1 year to approximately 2500 – 3000 s/f. Operated out of this facility, continuing to grow business by adding interior demolition to our service offerings and expanding personnel to 4 to 5 tile crews plus demolition crews. Within 2 ½ years, no longer able to effectively operate from this location due to space constraints, began a search for larger facilities, settling on a brand new site where we could have a custom built building with room to expand and a lease/purchase option. Since moving to these new quarters in July 2005 with 3500 s/f showroom and offices and 4000 s/f warehouse space, business has increased significantly prompting the addition of an office manager, additional sales personnel as well as additional tile and demolition crews. Our new facilities has also allowed us to expand into additional floor covering options including cork, laminate and pre-finished solid and engineered hardwood. Our service area now covers approximately 150 mile radius with a wide base of customers including multiple general contractors and home builders as well as homeowners. .
